25 Stars Nobody Wants To Work With

Some actors have studio execs lining up to hire them, but there’re others whose reputation off-camera has affected their chances of getting roles. Here’s a list of actors who’ve got a reputation that they’re difficult to work with. Make sure to check #18, #12 and #6!

#25. Wesley Snipes

The actor and martial arts professional reached his highest point in the 90’s with films like New Jack City and White Men Can’t Jump . He was also part of the Marvel Comics movies hype with his role as Blade. But his reputation as an actor was less on the friendly side and he was reportedly acting strange on set. The 32-year-old actress and model appeared in films including The Cider House Rules and A Walk to Remember. While working on set for so many hours, days and sometimes even months can be exhausting and everyone needs to blow off some steam every once in a while, a lot of partying might not be the way to stay in business. One of the biggest surprise on this list is the Pretty Woman star Julia Roberts. It seems that the lovable actress has a dark side. One of the biggest rumours regarding Roberts’ on-set behaviour back to the 90’s when she starred in the film Hook was her turbulent attitude. Hugh Grant has become known as the British hottie in more than a few rom-coms in the 1990s and early 2000s. However, the actor hasn’t worked much since then. It turns out he’s  super picky about his roles! And to make matters worse, most of the roles he has picked over the last decade have all bombed! Anna played the role of Rogue in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but has not appeared in any of the franchise movies since. The truth is, she hasn’t appeared in any movies at all! It seems Anna has been focusing more and more of her time  into TV now. She landed parts in Bellevue, True Blood, and Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. Actor Gary Oldman has worked in many classic movies – Dawn of the Planet of the ApesDark Knight Rises, and Robocop, just to name a few. But it seems he has been blacklisted from movie studios over the past several year due to his “misogynistic outbursts” against Nancy Pelosi along with his defence of Mel Gibson when he made his racist remarks. Jude Law was a very well-know name in the 1990s and especially in the 2000s. However, after a couple of commercial flops over the last eight years, he has gone back to stage acting and mini-series. He has also been profiling the UN in Afghanistan as well as going to the eastern European nation of Belarus to protest for democracy in that country. Good for him! 18. Chris Hemsworth

It seems like Chris Hemsworth hasn’t really been in a lot of movies as of late. To be clear, it is not because he is hard to work with or anything bad like that, but because he signed on to a multi-year, multi-movie contract with Marvel as Thor and he has therefore been unable to take on many other side projects. He did make some time to be in the movie Rush as well as Blackhat. His recent move back to Australia also made it much harder for the U.S. based studios to work with him. 17. Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the most well known British actors today. Marvel cast him for Dr. Who, he also played Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, and starred as the beloved detective in Sherlock Holmes. But it turns out that Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (who plays Dr. Watson on Sherlock Holmes), don’t really get along. After all these years of filming together the two are professional towards each other they don’t like to hang out off set at all. Pierce Brosnan is known for playing James Bond throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. He was in four films, and was preparing to start working on a fifth when he got a call from the producers, telling him that they were stopping production of the Bond film and dropping him from the role. #15. Tom Cruise

It may seem like Cruise is in every film, but there’s a slight decline in the studios and audience’s interest in the Mission Impossible actor recently and for a few different reasons. He seems to be stuck in the same role lately, since all he’s done in recent years were action films. His affiliation with Scientology also had some of the biggest producers thinking twice when it comes to signing contracts with him. In addition, his overly-controlling attitude  on set and in his personal life did not help the actor gain back the love of his fans. The now retired 87-year-old was reportedly a big troublemaker. Fellow actors stated that they were scared of working with Hackman due to his antics, verbally for the most part. Starring in action movies such as Speed and The Matrix, Keanu Reeves was one of top actors of the 1990s and the early 2000s. But we don’t know why he really hasn’t been in many movies since. Besides John Wick and 47 Ronin, Reeves hasn’t been able to land any parts. It could just a man over 50 playing a lead role just isn’t appealing to Hollywood. This is really heartbreaking, but Bruce Willis is said to be very hard to work with because he is very unapproachable while on set. It seems he doesn’t like being talked to and focuses on his role entirely without distraction. Director Kevin Smith called Bruce’s attitude “soul crushing” on the set of Cop Out. That is so sad! The 63-year-old actor has appeared in more that 70 films (Empire of the Sun, Con Air, Being John Malkovich, to name a few.) He is one of the most unique characters in Hollywood but he does have a somewhat questionable personality and a reputation of being difficult to work with. In the past he has gotten into heated confrontations on set and off of it. Adam Sandler’s most recent films are all products of Happy Madison Productions, the company he founded many years ago but the comedy actor has found it difficult to land roles outsides of his own projects. Because of Sandler’s reputation in the film industry has been tainted by his mood swings and misunderstood, abstract creative vision, some studios are hesitant to work with him. Charlie Sheen was so impossible on the set of Two and a Half Men that he ended up getting fired from the show and replaced with Ashton Kutcher. Sheen seems to have been involved in some scandals with his strange behavior and most recently coming out as HIV positive. And even now in his new show Anger Management, co-star Selma Blair said that Sheen was “a menace to work with.”

Whenever you see Rob Schneider in a new movie is thanks to his buddy Adam Sandler. As funny as he is, he was never referred to as “star quality.” It´s true that Schneider does have the Deuce Bigalo: Male Gigolo films under his belt but his off-screen opinions have given him a bad reputation. The comedian has been publicly criticized for his anti-vaccine stance and for always playing ethnic stereotypes in films. So he’s doing voice overs for children’s flicks for now. #7. Kiefer Sutherland

While Sutherland was star of the television show 24, his co-star on the show Freddie Prinze Jr. said that Sutherland wasn’t very professional on set. He would show up drunk sometimes and would proceed to go to his trailer and sleep it off, halting the entire production until he was able to work. Honestly, that inexcusable and unprofessional behavior could be why Sutherland has been laying pretty low lately. Next one is very surprising, it’s about an actor who always seemed approachable!

The reason why after his hit Austin Powers films his roles were mostly voice over ones is that funny man Mike Myers is actually super controlling behind the scenes, making filming with him harder than it looks. It might seem unbelievable, but Myers is known to those in Hollywood as a total perfectionist who doesn’t let anything go by without his approval on it. Elisha Cuthbert had a promising career in the early 2000s. She was in the films House of Wax and Girl Next Door but then we never hear from her again. The reason no one wanted to work with her was pretty sad, actually: her films just bombed and she associated with glitzy, frivolous celebs like Paris Hilton. Katherine Heigl is notorious for being one of the most difficult people to work with in Hollywood, both in television and film. It has been said that Heiglwas very demanding on set, cold to the other members of the cast and crew and rude to fans who line the streets to see her when she makes an appearance. Heigl also has a tendency to talk badly about former films and shows she has been on, which has come back to get her and now she isn’t acting in many films these days. Ben Affleck has been in major films such as Good Will Hunting, Pearl Harbor, Argo, Gone Girl, and Batman vs Superman. He was in the recent Justice League film, but absent from the screen since then. Just because he made some horrible film choices while trying to be an actor, writer, action star and humanitarian in the past. Studios weren’t ready to give him a second chance. #1. Elizabeth Berkley

Elizabeth Berkley was the only star from Saved by the Bell who couldn’t go on to bigger and/or better things after the show ended. turns out that the fact that her first Saved by the Bell role was a disaster to the point that it became a synonym for movies that both were horrible and bombed at the box office didn’t help her career. She has had numerous television guest appearances ever since, but no major roles, and certainly not in movies. It’s a pity but Showgirls just ruined her career.
