Zits can be a really big problem and can affect your appearance and self-esteem. Most acne products promise great results, and they may work…but just as long as you keep using them. I have found homeopathic and natural home remedies to be a lot better when curing and preventing acne.
FATTY ACIDS: Fatty acids are great for women who have premenstrual breakouts. Borage, fish, and flaxseed oil can help keep your complexion balanced and can help breakouts disappear a lot faster.
ZINC: It is thought to be the most important mineral for healthy skin. Take 15 mg daily for a healthy complexion.
BETA-CAROTENE: Taking 15 mg of this form of vitamin A may help protect the skin from bacteria which contribute to acne.
HERBAL TINTURE: I have found that certain herbs can help heal and prevent acne. A tincture that combines equal parts of nine herbs can do wonders on the lymphatic system and can also help cleanse your skin: red clover, burdock, yellow dock, dang gui, milk thistle, cleavers, schisandra, Echinacea, and licorice. Bring 1 quart of water to a boil and add an ounce of the combined herbs. Then turn off the heat and let it steep for 30 minutes. Drink 2 cups a day for about 3 months. Not only does this help your lymphatic system, but it can also cleanse your liver, nourish your blood, and fight infections-all factors that are crucial in healing acne.
HYDROTHERAPY: A weekly steam bath can help open and drain pores. In fact, adding yarrow to the steaming water can be very healing and soothing to the skin.
Of course there are other things that can help with acne, such as: eating healthy, not smoking, exercising, and practicing sensible health routines. Acupressure, a form of Chinese Medicine, has been rumored to clear up congestion and help with acne. Some people may be allergic to the herbs mentioned up above, but that case is very rare.
