The photo featured a teenage girl, speculated to be Tara, bound and gagged in the back of a van. However, two other photographs featuring a girl believed to be Tara surfaced in the following months. Unfortunately, the identity of those three girls were never confirmed.

Teresa Butler

Teresa Butler's husband came back from work and discovered his wife was missing and their two young sons had been left home alone. Her phone and purse were missing, along with other valuable items.

Shortly after, authorities discovered that two calls had been made from Teresa's phone to numbers from two different towns in Missouri. But once the police looked into it, they discovered these people had never heard of Teresa.

Amy Bradley

In 1998, Amy Bradley went on vacation with her parents and brother on a cruise. While they were near Curacao in the Netherland Antilles, she vanished from the ship.

While the police initially concluded that she had probably fallen overboard, it was reported that she was seen on a beach at Curacao in 1998. Could it really have been her?

Annette Sagers

Korrina Lynne Sagers Malinoski disappeared when she did not show up for work in 1987. Then, in 1988, Korrina's 8-year-old daughter, Annette Sagers was on her way to school when she mysteriously vanished as well.

A note was found at the bus stop which read "Dad, momma come back. Give the boys a hug." Experts determined that Annette wrote the note, but the police never landed on any further clues.

Cynthia Anderson

Cynthia Anderson's car was parked outside her workplace, but she vanished before her employers got there. Her purse and car keys were missing but a romance novel she had been reading was at her desk and open to a scene where the heroine got abducted.

A few days later, the police found a note on a wall near Cindy's office that read "I Love You Cindy - By GW". The police tried to figure out what those initials meant and whether it had anything to do with her disappearance, but no further evidence was found.

Asha Degree

Asha Degree's parents went to wake her up on the morning of February 14, 2000, and discovered she was nowhere to be found. Her brother had actually been awake since early in the morning, but he had no idea about what had happened.

Witness reports pointed that she may have sneaked out on her own. An year and a half later, her bookbag was found, double-wrapped in plastic bags. There's still no answer to why she left or what happened to her.

Laureen Rahn

Laureen Rahn was last seen at her house with two friends on April, 1980. Later that night, Laureen's mother, Judith, came home and thought her daughter was sleeping. The next morning she discovered that the sleeping girl was actually one of Laureen's friends.

Police suspected that Laureen had run away, but Judith discovered two calls to California from her phone. Judith also received several mysterious phone calls from an unknown number, but the caller never uttered a word.

Leah Roberts

Leah Roberts left on a road trip in 2000 from North Carolina. She took most of her belongings and her cat with her, but didn't tell anyone where she was heading.

Two months later, her car was discovered abandoned in Washington. There were no signs of injuries and all her belongings were there, except for her cat.There is no indication of what happened to her. Yikes!

Diane Augat

In 1988, three days after Diane Augat disappeared, her mother received a message on her answering machine. A woman who sounded like her daughter was screaming out "Help, help, let me out" as someone was tried to drag her away.

Then, Diane's right middle finger was found in the area where she was seen. Later, a bag with her clothes was found in a convenience store's freezer. However, the girl was never found.

Mary Shotwell Little

Mary Shotwell Little vanished after having dinner with a friend in 1965. Her car was found right where she had parked it, her undergarments folded inside and traces of blood scattered throughout the vehicle.

However, the license plate had been switched. There were witnesses who allegedly spotted a disheveled woman matching Mary's description with two men, but despite the theories, the case was never solved.

Boris Weisfeiler

Boris Weisfeiler decied to make a trip to Chile in 1984, but things took a creepy turn. It is believed that he went hiking and tried to cross a river but drowned. However, the only evidence behind this theory was a backpack found on the riverbank, since his body was never recovered.

Sixteen years after the incident, some declassified US documents alleged that witnesses saw him being interrogated and then shot point-blank. However, the case was closed and no bodies were found.

Patricia Meehan

Patricia Meehan crashed into another vehicle in 1989. She got out of the car and stared silently at the crash, then climbed over a fence and walked away, never to be seen again.

Detectives suggested that she could have suffered from amnesia as a result of the accident. While that could've easily been the case, over 5,000 people reported to have seen Meehan during the years following her disappearance, though no evidence was ever found.

Mayumi Arashi

Mayumi Arashi left home in 1994 after telling her sister, Yoko, that she was going to meet a friend. When she didn't come home the following day, Yoko phoned her sister's friend but found out that they hadn't made any plans to meet.

A note was found in Yoko's wardrobe that read “I was going out with A but was betrayed. I’m sorry”, together with a phone number. Yoko called the number and even got a private detective to look into this person, but nothing came out. Recently, the girl's father was interviewed for a documentary on Mayumi's story.

Hannah Upp

Hannah Upp disappeared for the first time in 2008 and was found alive floating in the New York Harbor three weeks later. She was diagnosed with dissociative fugue, a rare form of amnesia, that causes sufferers to forget their own identities.

However, the woman disappeared again for two days in 2013, and then a third time in 2017 after Hurricane Irma. Unfortunately, she has been missing since then.

Patrick Warren And David Spencer

Patrick and his best friend David lived in a small British town called Solihull, one of those places where nothing really happens. On the evening after Christmas in 1996, they went to visit one of Patrick's brothers. They made it to the local gas station but never arrived at their destination. What happened?

There were searches and suspects but they were never found. A few weeks later, the police discovered Patrick's bike lying next to some bins right behind the petrol station. However, they didn't manage to round up any subjects.

Ireland's Vanishing Triangle

In 1993, Annie McCarrick went missing from Sandymount. In 1993, in the nearby village of Rathgar, Eva Brennan disappeared after leaving her parent's house late at night. In 1994, Imelda Keenan left her apartment in Waterford City and vanished into thin air.

But the mystery didn't end there! In 1995 Josephine Dollar was seen in Kildare, which is also in the same region, and never made it back home. Three other girls went missing during the next three years, all within the boundaries of Leinster. Because of this, the area was since dubbed as Ireland's Vanishing Triangle.

Lauren Spierer

Laurie Spierer was enjoying an outing with some friends in 2011. There's surveillance footage of her leaving the bar accompanied by a friend and witnesses confirmed that they were intoxicated.

Lauren spent a few hours at a friend's neighbor's apartment but was never seen after that. Her family believe that she probably died from intoxication after being drugged by the guys she was hanging out with.

Ben McDaniel

Ben McDaniel was diving in an underwater cave, trying to get through the gate to one of the site's most dangerous parts, when one of the employees let him in.

Two days later, the same employee noticed that McDaniel's truck had never left the parking lot. Recovery divers were sent to look for him but found nothing. McDaniel's parents even offered $30,000 as reward to any diver who would risk his life to go further into the cave.

Anthonette Cayedito

Penny Cayedito went to bed at 3 AM after a long day at work. A few moments later, someone knocked the door. Penny's eldest daughter, Anthonette, went to answer while her two youngest daughters went back to sleep. Later in the morning, they realized Anthonette was gone.

After a year without any leads, the police received a phone call from a young girl. She said her name was Anthonette and that she had been abducted. From the back, a voice could be heard asking, "Who said you could use the phone?". However, she was never found.

Mikelle Biggs

In 1999, Kimber Biggs and Mikelle Biggs were waiting for the ice cream truck outside their house in Arizona, when Kimber decided to go inside because she was cold. Mikelle stayed outside riding her sister's bike, but when Kimber came back two minutes later, Mikelle was nowhere to be found.

In 2018, after years of searching, a reporter phoned the police saying he had handed on a one-dollar-bill with a writing that read "M]y name is Mikel Biggs. Kidnapped from Mesa. I'm alive". Unfortunately, the girl was never found.
