#20 Robert Pattinson

Millions of girls (and guys) fawned over Robert Pattinson when he first appeared as Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga. Today, we couldn't imagine anybody else playing his role. But did you know that Pattinson was almost fired for not smiling enough? Apparently producers wanted Edward to be more smiley and light hearted, but Pattinson believed that his character had a more serious demeanor.

#19 Taylor Lautner

Well, it seems that the whole cast of Twilight was about to get fired. The other favorite golden boy, Taylor Lautner, was reportedly close to being fired for the sequel New Moon. The chatter around this began after Lautner wasn't part of a press conference that was released. However, fans pressed hard to convince the director to recast Lautner and come back to play Jacob Black. Lautner himself made sure to be convincing as he gained 19 pounds of muscle and promised to gain another 10.

You don't need to be a Nicolas Cage fan to know that he has a very unique voice. However, surprisingly enough it was his special voice what almost got him fired from his role in Peggy Sue Got Married, a film that was releasedback in 1986. The movie is about Peggy Sue, a 25 year old woman that wakes up as an 18 year old.

#17 Michelle Rodriguez

Everybody has heard about Fast and Furious and everybody can agree that Michelle Rodriguez does a great job at being Letty Ortiz. So you'd be shocked to find out that Rodriguez was almost fired/sued when she was against the film's plot. Rodriguez stated: "Is it realistic for a Latin girl who’s the alpha-est of the alpha males to cheat on him with the cute boy?”

America's Got Talent is that show you'll binge-watch in Youtube when you are trying to procrastinate that 1000 word essay and it's fair to say that the show wouldn't be the same without Nick Cannon, the host. However, Cannon actually quit before he could get fired for having used foul language in a comedy standup.

It's not unusual for actors and actresses to adopt a different accent from their native one, after all, some of them are experts at it. However, Tammin Sursok definitely had a hard time losing her Australian accent for her famous role as Jenna Marshall in Pretty Little Liars. Her native accent kept coming up during production and it was so intense that she almost got fired for it.

Pirates of the Caribbean without Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow just isn't Pirates of the Caribbean anymore. However, it was revealed by Depp himself in 2015 that producers wanted to fire him. Apparently, they didn't like how he slurred words or mumbled when he was filming.

Celebrities would do anything to be able to work with Robert Downey Jr, so the thought of him almost being fired makes no sense. However, when Downey was filming Weird Science, producers threatened to fire him after he decided it would be funny to defecate in one of his coworker's trailer. Nope, he did not choose the toilet, he opted for a chair instead.

Believe it or not, Tom Cruise was almost fired during his role in Mission Impossible. As Paramount's statement went: “We don’t think that someone who effectuates creative [...] and costs the company revenue should be on the lot. His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount.”

When somebody requests for racial diversity, they shouldn't be threated of being fired right? Well, tell that to whoever wanted to fire Jay Pharoah, the iconic comedian from Saturday Night Live. When Jay requested to have more black female leads in the show, the show wasn't happy at all.

She came in next day with a completely different attitude and baked goods to go with that.

Linda Larkin was almost fired from her role as Princess Jasmine's voice in Aladdin. Directors just weren't convinced with Linda's high pitched voice, instead, they preferred something lower. However, Linda somehow kept her role and while she did, she wasn't required to sing in the film.

Everybody loves Rachel McAdams and everybody loves the Notebook. After all, the chemistry between her and Ryan Gosling is what made our hearts melt, so you would have never guessed that off camera, these two hated each other. In fact, Gosling was the one that almost convinced the director to cast somebody else to act as his on screen love interest.

Mary-Kate and Ashley rose to fame really fast when they starred in the famous sitcom Full House when they were barely one. However, the fact that they were babies made John Stamos, who portrayed Uncle Jesse, slightly irritated. This was very apparent when they were trying to wrap certain scenes. Directors listened to John and temporarily replaced the twins with another pair of twins, but they turned out to be worse.

Whether it's jokingly or not, bullying is never okay, and John Hughes, the director of The Breakfast Club felt very strongly about this. So when Judd Nelson started making fun of his coworker Molly Ringwald, John made sure to straighten things out with him. The director was protective of Ringwald and wouldn't tolerate any bullying under his watch.

Imagining anybody else other than Terrence Howard playing Lucious Lyon in Empire just makes no sense. So everybody was shocked when they found out that his role was on the line. Apparently, Authentic Talent and Literary Management prevented him from being fired from the show. The agency then proceeded to ask for $250,000 from Howard for allowing him to keep his job.

If there is somebody that is irreplaceable in a role, it's Al Pacino in his role as Michael Corleone in no other than The Godfather. However, Pacino said in an interview that producers wanted to fire him early on. He revealed: “They wanted to fire me when I was on the picture… [during] the shooting, first couple of weeks,”

Dennis Hopper was a true redemption story as he had to show that he was ready to be a director for his show Easy Rider as well as a lead actor. Before the screenplay had been written, Hopper had to prove himself during a directing gig in New Orleans. He was monitored by Movie Producers, Bill Hayward and Peter Fonda. After finding out, they admitted to Hopper that they apparently were planning on paying back the money Bert Schneider (the producer) had given them for Easy Rider and fire Hopper.
