Burmese mince


Real easy recipe with most of the ingredients can be kept in the freezer. If not then try substituting for something else, the recipe packs a protein punch in one pan perfect!


  • 8 oz rice cooked as per packet instructions

  • 4 oz mushrooms, sliced

  • 2 sausages or 4 chipolatas

  • 4 oz minced beef( use steak mince if possible if not use other mince browned and cooked for about 20 mins with enough water to cover the mince)

  • 2 oz cooked prawns follow packet for preparations (iff using uncooked prawns adjust cooking time upwards until they are cooked)

  • 4 oz cooked peas

  • 4 eggs

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Dripping or oil for frying

  • roughly chopped parsley

what you will need

utensils as per the instructions on rice packet

high sided frying pan or large saucepan

serving dish

4 plates


cook the rice as per the packet instructions cover and keep warm until required

Place frying pan on meduim heat once heated add the oil or dripping

Fry the minced beef and the sausages until brown.

Remove from the pan separate the sausages slice the sausage and return

them to the mince cover the mix and keep warm

Return the frying pan to the heat add any morwe oil or dripping if desired and then add the rice  and the mushrooms and fry for a minute or 2 then add the prawns cooking for no more than 2 minutes until they are well heated through, at this point add salt and pepper to taste.

Arrange on a serving dish, cover and keep warm.

Fry the eggs in the same pan and place them on top of the rice mixture for serving.
