This pooch was named Beaux. His parents were Labradors who belonged to a breeder. Unfortunately, this puppey has seven siblings and he didn’t get enough room in the womb to grow completely. This shrunk his cranium and had a deformed face. People adopt dogs because they’re adorable, that’s why Beaux never found love.

The breeder tried to sell him but couldn’t. So, he gave him away for free to a man in Texas. However, the place couldn’t be a home for “Lucky” because of all the cats the man had. Lucky, now Beaux had to move out.

RESCUED

Lucky didn’t have a bed to sleep till he was found by the local dog rescue and he was given to some other family. But, he couldn’t really bond with the family because he had lost trust in other beings. He made his way to multiple families and eventually went back to the farmers house. Until one day, Jamie Hulit learned about Lucky.

Jamie also lived in Texas and often volunteered in the local rescue organizations. One day she heard about Lucky on Facebook and decided that she wanted to bring that dog home.

COMMON DENOMINATOR

Life Buzz

Jamie was in foster care for about two years, jumping from house to house. She knew what that pup was going through and wanted to give him a place he could call home. But, the dogs condition was dire. In addition to his facial problems, he was extremely weak with ear mites and fleas. She took him in and named him Beaux Tox.

THE DIAGNOSIS

Life Buzz

Jamie took him to a vet and the doctor told her that Beaux had heartworm disease which could damage his organs. But, the pup was really weak so there was a 50% chance that he would survive the treatment. There were times during his treatment that the doctors gave up but Beaux didn’t. He was on and off oxygen for a month but he never once lost hope.

THE RECOVERY

After months of hoping, Beaux gained enough weight that the doctors were able to start the treatment. Unfortunately, he did lose hearing in one ear and vision in one eye, but he was as healthy as he could be.

A LONG LIFE

Life Buzz

With such a medically challenging past, it was justified that Jamie was worried about how many years she had with the pet. She had an MRI for the dog which showed that there were no health issues. Other than the deformed head, he was okay. Beaux would lead a long life even after his medical history.

THE PREDATOR

Life Buzz

One day, a feral hog stumbled onto their backyard and Beaux detected the intruder. He fought the feral hog and murdered him. Jamie was shocked that this gentle animal had a hunter within him, but she was insanely proud at the same time.
