How to Make Caramel Apples for Halloween
These are a favorite for both children and adults and they are easy and quite fast to make. The following recipe makes for 8 servings, however if you want more like 16 double the ingredients or half them for only 4.
8 Small apples (green or red or mix them up)
8 glasses or cups (big enough to hold the apples)
8 Popsicle sticks (washed and dried)
21-25 Caramel squares
1 tablespoon of milk
1 sauce pan
1 microwaveable bowl (big enough to fit over the sauce pan)
First wash and dry both the apples and the Popsicle sticks, then insert the sticks into the stems of each apple.
Line the baking sheet with foil and spray it with butter spray and now place the apples on the foil.
Then place a pan with 2 cups of water and heat on medium until it boils
In a microwaveable bowl (big enough to fit over the sauce pan) add the caramel squares and the milk and microwave for thirty to thirty five seconds and then stir.
Now place bowl over the boiling water so that the caramel continues to melt, stirring often until the caramel sauce is more consistent.
Now dip each apple halfway in sauce and if you wish you can add a topping like chocolate sprinkles on them, and place each apple upside down in glasses or cups to let cool.
