How to set Short Term Goals – Make your financial dreams come true

Do you want to achieve things in your life? Are you excited about the future? If you are planning for a better future, it’s important to have a clear vision and an action plan to follow it.

Everybody loves to have a better future, it setting goals and stuff makes them bored.

I usually hear things like, it takes too much work, and you really have to spend lots of days setting goals.

Here’s a quick solution, how about setting Short Term Goals.

If you haven’t planned your life, it’s better to start with goals with short term in nature.

This way, you will be setting realistic goals and the possibility of achieving them is greater.

What is Short Term Goal

If your goals spans form couple of weeks to max 3 months, then it can be considered a short term goal. In this shorter time frame, you can plan very well and achieve your goal.

You don’t have to worry about spending lots of time in goal setting, like in the long term goals.

But remember that, once you are got at this, you might want to plan your long term goal. This gives more focus and do things that you really want to do.

Also, the long term goal can be broken apart into multiple short term goals and achieving them will be easy.

How to Do it

Your goals should be specific and measurable.

Let’s say that you want to lose weight. It’s no good to write it down as “I want to lose weight in the next few months”.

Make it measurable. Say “I want to lose 10 pounds in the next 45 days”.

This way, you have some measurement to keep track of.

Also, if you track lots of goals, your concentration will be diverted. You won’t be focused on getting results.

So, set 2 or 3 goals for the next 3 months, and track them again and again. As you read about them every morning after you wake up, and before going to sleep, you will start internalizing.

At some point, your sub-conscious mind will take control and generate ideas and action plan for you.

But note it down in a piece of paper, and achieve them.

When you achieve your goal or an action item, you feel enthusiastic, so the body secretes Endorphin which gives you a high.

The feeling makes you pumped and you want to do it more, as often as you can.
