To pass a job interview without cold sweats, is possible. To have some positive stress is quite normal and even exciting, but you should be able to sleep the previous night. After a winning resume, and an engaging letter often follows a job interview. An interview is a gateway to a new job, we must be able to go through it without a few nights of insomnia, heart palpitations, shortness of breath and sweaty palms. Believe me, it can even be a pleasant life experience.


Your worst enemies during a job search situation, are your fears. Know that your fears are (independent and autonomous) in that they have nothing to do with your skills or your ability to land a job during an interview. Your fears are caused by your lack of recognition of your worth, your lack of confidence in yourself and your insecurity. If you fit the desired profile, they will realize it. If you do not fit their profile, something else will happen and that may even be better for you. A different job offer, or not hiring you at all, which is not the end of the world. Enjoy the interview as a new experience which allows you to talk about yourself in all sincerity. The employer is looking for a certain profile, help him to discover if you fit this profile. You do not have to transform yourself in order to obtain the job at all cost. This expectation skews your spontaneity. Let us take a different approach at the preparation of a job interview.

Describe who you are and what you know, answer honestly and in some cases, with some strategy, those all the things that you can do. The rest is up to the interviewer. Accept this fact and be yourself. Assume who you are and know how to say it is the key that will get you to have a good interview and to be selected for a position which really suits you.
