I have been helping business owners succeed with online marketing for 6 years now, and I have never seen anything like this.

The major search engines have changed the way that customers find local business owners!

On October 25th, 2010 Google made an announcement that changed the world of online marketing for Mortgage Brokers forever.

“Today, we’re announcing the availability of a new online advertising solution to help local businesses connect with potential customers in their area.”

When Google makes an announcement like this you can bet that there’s going to be a massive shift in the marketplace. I know it from personal experience.

I have spent over a quarter of a million dollars on the Google Pay per Click network (PPC). Simply put, I was paying Google to place my website on the front page. When people clicked on my ads to get information on Real Estate or Mortgages I would pay Google. This form of advertising worked shockingly well.

Then one beautiful Tuesday morning in late 2010, I got an email from Google. They thanked me for my business and informed me that they would no longer be running my ads! It seemed like almost overnight most of the businesses that were a middle man between a small business owner and Google were getting shut down.

I was shocked, angry and full of questions. Why would Google do this to me? Why was my money all of a sudden not good enough for them?

I spent months after that day, locked in my office researching everything there was to know about Google and what changes were happening in the online marketing world.
