This is a recipe to Make Beef Choufleur (Cauliflower Beef). I have a very old cookbook from Rubbermaid Employees that I am using to put up recipes that are unusual, hard to find in ehow, or are just different in case any searchers are looking for hard to find recipes they remember from childhood. So far, the recipes are getting lots of views, so I will keep going. This recipe looks great to serve to guests or anytime. This is a show stopper healthy meal when you serve Beef Choufleur to your guests. Have fun and Happy Cooking!
Take a boneless beef round steak that is 1/3″ thick and cut it into 1/2″ squares.
Step 2 In a large hot skillet, brown meat pieces in 2 T. butter for about 5 minutes.
Add 4 C cauliflower (separated into flowerettes), 1 green bell pepper (cut into 3/4″ pieces), 1/4 C soy sauce, and 1 clove of minced garlic. Stir lightly to coat vegetables with soy sauce.
Cover the pan and simmer everything until vegetables are BARELY TENDER, about 10 minutes or less.
In a small bowl, blend with small whisk to dissolve, 2 T. cornstarch, 1/2 t. sugar, and 1 1/2 C beef broth.
Add this mixture to the meat mixture along with 1 C sliced green onions. Cook everything thoroughly, stirring constantly, until thoroughly heated and the sauce is thickened.
Serve the meat and sauce over beds of fluffy rice. A green salad and rolls would go well with this too! Serves 6.
