GETTING THE NEWS
Donna and Vince Aylmer were just on their way to a routine checkup. They made their way to the doctor for the their routine checkup and ultrasound. They thought their family would have a +1, but they never anticipated that it would be +2.
THE DAY COMES
About nine months later, Donna gave birth to a set of beautiful babies. However, she was slightly confused because one of her twins had a snowy complexion and other had a fairly darker complexion. How could twins look so different?
Just like any other twins, Donna and Vince dressed their children in matching outfits. But, as you can see, making them look similar like this was just a failed attempt.
SENSING THEIR DIFFERENT IDENTITIES
When they were seven, the twins told their mother that they didn’t want to be dressed alike. They said that they were already really different. So, there was really no point in struggling to get them clothes that were the same.
Both teens had some things that they didn’t like about themselves. For instance, Maria, the darker girl didn’t like her curly hair and Lucy, the golden-colored twin, didn’t like her pale skin because their peers used to tease them that she looked like a ghost. Lucy didn’t have the easiest childhood because her classmates actually bullied the poor girl by calling her adopted. Which, as you might realize, is a grave accusation to a small girl.
These twins are classified biracial twins that are not common but not exactly too rare. This phenomenon usually happens with parents belonging to different races. In this case, Vince is Caucasian and Donna is half-Jamaican. That’s why their kids had different tones.
Growing up, the two even developed completely different personalities and sense of style. Even their career paths were completely different. Lucy was studying art and design at the Gloucester and Maria was studying law at Cheltenham College.
The lives of these two teens hasn’t been easy. No one believed that they were actually twins and at some places, the friends actually told the two to produce their birth certificates so they could actually prove that they’re related. There was some talk that one of them was adopted. But, at the end, everyone had to bow down to the fact that these two girls were actually twin sisters.
THE TWIN BOND
The two girls were asked if they also feel the psychic bond like most twin sisters do. As you might know, twins often say that they can feel what their sibling is feeling as well as feel the same physical pain as they’re feeling. When asked about it, Lucy and Maria declined that the never real felt a certain psychic bond. But, they did admit that sometimes they do share physical pains in the same region. Maybe they do have a bond, they just don’t realize it.
OTHER BIRACIAL TWINS
These twins, Kian and Remee were born a minute apart and the diversity is plain obvious. One is black and the other is white, while they may possess certain similar facial features, their skin complexion is completely different.
