The great state of Montana is wonderful for exploring in an RV with its large expenses of open space, majestic mountains, and brisk, fresh air. Montana highways are travel-friendly as well, and some people when they visit decide to hunker down for a longer spell in one of the state’s many RV parks. Superior, Montana is a town somewhat northwest of Helena that is close to the border with Idaho. While RV parks are not present in Superior, Montana proper, many nearby towns have parks and campground with RV hook-ups to help you make your home away from home. Different RV parks in the Superior, Montana area have different atmospheres with some catering to families, others being pet friendly, and others providing privacy for that getaway feeling.
Jellystone RV Park
One fine option is Jellystone RV Park, which is situated approximately 57 miles southeast of Superior, Montana. The paved park has a variety of hook-ups that include 20/30/50 amp electric sockets and amenties such as wireless Internet and cable TV. Extended length sites (up to 70 feet) are available as are pull-through style sites so that you don’t need to back up. The park has a dump for your waste and has a small store at which you can buy ice or RV supplies. Recreation facilities are abundant with a heated swimming pool, a putt-putt mini golf course, basketall hoop and separate play area for adults and children. For the hiker in you, the wilderness of the expansive Clearwater National Forest is nearby. Clearwater, located just outside Missoula, spans some 2 million acres and has trails and rivers for the outdoorsperson in you. Be sure to obtain a permit if you will be doing any hunting or fishing.
Campground St. Regis
On the other side from town is Campground St. Regis, situated about 14 miles northwest of Superior, Montana. Campground St. Regis has extended length tree-shaded sites (75 feet pull-throughs) with 50-amp electric hookups. Visitors can obtain propane, dump station access and movie rentals in the park. A pet-friendly park, the RV park even has a dedicated trail for dogs and service for boarding your horses. Other amenities include a heated swimming poo, game room, and places to ride your mountain bike or road bicycle. For the outdoorsperson in you, venture to the nearby Lolo National Forest for backpacking or day use play.
Nugget RV Park
A smaller RV park in the Superior, Montana area is Nugget RV Park, located in the mountainous area of St. Regis. Nugget RV park boasts 50 sites, with 50-amp electric pull through stations available. Additional amenities include free wireless Internet and access to propane, RV supplies and ice for purchase. Nugget RV park includes a heated swimming pool and hiking trails. If you are a duffer, you can partake in the challenging par-72 Trestle Creek Golf Course in town. Outdoor play can be hard at the nearby Clark Fork River and St. Regis River, where you can arrange for whitewater rafting trips and kayaking instruction.
