Tekken: the Movie behind the scenes

The popular video game, Tekken, created by Namco (1994) is finally getting a live action movie. Many people are skeptical as to how this flick will not only do in the box office, but how pure it will stay to it’s roots. In the past few years, we’ve seen the horrendous attempt at Dragon Ball. I.E. Goku not having his normal hair style, Bulma being an assassin instead of a scientist, and Master Roshi (Muten Roshi) doing a kamehameha wave with just one hand. In fact, the so-called wave was more or less a small ball when it’s really supposed to be a streaming laser.

Another movie that did not do so well is Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-li.  There were a lot of things wrong with this films: i.e. the storyline. Chun-li was not a pianist but always a talented martial artist. Her father was not a hustler or in some illegal business, but he was a detective for Chinese interpol.

Tekken on the other hand, I see it having some potential. The character models look pretty good so far, and the cast seems pretty decent. Even looking at the footage of the trailer, I am not TOTALLY disappointed compared to what the previous movies looked like. Still – there is a lot of speculation and a lot of wonders as to how this movie will perform.

Well here is the trailer below. You can make that judgment for yourself. The trailer includes the main backdrop *i.e., the arena*, and some of the characters and stunts. Definitely check it out.
