Tips on Child’s Development Activities

A child is a bundle of joy and with every single day the child is growing rapidly than anybody else. Parents must also take part in the growth and development process of the child as their participation can help a child learn easily and faster. The various areas of growth and development refer to motor development which means movement by effectively using the limbs, socio emotional development which means communication, learning manners etc, language which means speech and also the cognitive development according to the age. Various activities can be done both at home and school in a play way method to help the child learn how to behave in the society, how to speak and develop simple thinking processes that is necessary for knowing the world around.

Giving the child a safe and hygienic play area is most important. The area should be clean and clear of any unsafe objects. Toys should be given which are appropriate for the child’s developmental age and also which can be explored in several ways. Let the child be imaginative and creative, little or no rules must be kept as that will curb the freedom of development, provide activities that involve finger movements, playing with colors, shapes, small problem solving games etc.

Activities that will help the child to develop globally are those which will make them think, relate and associate to develop their cognitive power, activities done using their hands, limbs are for their motor development and keeping them engaged in such activities with other children as well help them develop socially also. A good vigilance and monitoring should be maintained without the child’s knowledge. Give the child shapes and colors and ask them to associate and relate with the objects they find lying around them. Teach them the size while they are relating to the objects. Keep music systems to play the alphabet song, the nursery rhymes etc. Read stories to them and also ask them to tell a story. Take interest in whatever they say. Give them clay and colors to create whatever they feel like, let them splatter and have fun with colors.

Giving freedom of thought and expression to the child is most important for development. Everyday a time slot should be kept aside for such developmental activities. Let the child have fun as he keeps learning, growing and developing.
