Whatever Happened to the American Pie Cast?

The first American Pie movie was released back in 1999. Since then, many sequels were shot, some great ones and some… not so great. Years have passed and now we wonder where are the actors of American Pie now? Although most of us are completely updated about #12.

#14. Eric Lively – Albert

Not only Blake Lively’s big brother, Albert has participated in may tv shows; such as So Weird, A Minute with Stan Hooper, The L Word, and Modern Men. His last work was on the 2014 film BFFs.

#13. Chris Owen – Chuck Sherman

Chris Owen has not only been in American Pie, he has also worked on other school/college themed series during his career. He participated in National Lampoon films as Booker McFee. Although he has not been working that much, he appeared in 2015 in The Night Before.

#12. Jennifer Coolidge – Stifler’s Mom

Although American Pie lovers will always remember her as Stifler’s mom, the talented Coolidge as played many memorable roles throughout the years. She was Paulette, the lovely manicurist in Legally Blonde, Fiona, Hillary Duff’s evil stepmother, in A Cinderella Story from where the famous line “you’re not very pretty and you’re not very bright” was taken. She also appears regularly in Christopher Guest‘s mockumentary films, such as Best in Show and A Mighty Wind. Right now she is starring the show Two Broke Girls  and voicing Lazy Susan on Gravity Falls since 2012.

#11. Mena Suvari – Heather

Mena, Oz’s love interest in these movies, also participated in American Beauty, in a role that contributed much to her popularity. Both movies were released in 1999, a great year for her! She is also a great poker player, as her co-star Shannon Elizabeth , and she has played on the World Poker Tour, in the Hollywood games for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. She has also been in many popular TV shows such as American Horror Story, Chicago Fire and South of Hell.

#10. Natasha Lyonne – Jessica

Natasha might not be so famous for her role as Jessica in American Pie, but she has become very famous for her role in Orange is the New Black (check #1 to see the other member of the cast who also worked on these great tv show). In fact, in 2014 she was nominated to a Primetime Emmy for playing Nicky Nichols’ inmate in the show.

She feels very close to her character due to her past complications with the law for DUIs and drug charges, as she stated “believe me, there’s no shortage of things for me to draw on when it comes to Nicky’s backstory.” 

She has also done theater work, in plays such as  Two Thousand Years, Blood From a Stone and Women Behind Bars.

#9 Eugene Levy – Jim’s Dad

Eugene is the only actor who appeared in every American Pie  movie, so it’s impossible to look at his iconic eyebrows and not thinking about Jim’s dad. In 2008 he was awarded with what is considered “Canada’s highest artistic honour”, the Governor General’s Performing Award; he was also made a member of the Order of Canada for his “contributions as a comic actor and writer, and for his dedication to charitable causes.” He was also bestowed the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by David Charles Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. He is currently on the TV show Schitt’s Creek and he voiced Charly in Finding Dory by Disney Pixar.

#8. Tara Reid – Vicky Lathum

Tara was a big deal back in the 90s, she had worked on The Big Lebowski, Josie and The Pussycats and Van Wilder. However, it was all downhill from there- she had a surgery to lift her breasts which didn’t go as expected and gave her a slight deformity and the situation was made public. However, she was a part of Sharknado, Sharnado 2: The Second One and Sharknado: Oh Hell No!

#7. Shannon Elizabeth – Nadia

Shannon was also a big hit back in the early ’00s, in 2001 she worked on Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back  and Thir13en Ghosts. As Suvari, she is also a poker player and competes every month in Las Vegas Valley. She competed in the World Series of Poker in multiple occasions and in the NBC National Heads-up Poker Championship too. Her most recent appearances were in Marshall’s Miracle and Swing Away.

#6. Thomas Ian Nicholas – Kevin Myers

Thomas’ career has been quite successful with him playing as Walt Disney in Walt Before Mickey and Frank Sinatra Jr. in Stealing Sinatra. He also played a minor role in Party of Five after American Pie, and appeared as a guest in shows like Medium and Grey’s Anatomy. He recently worked on Gormity and Red Band Society, TV shows that were well received by the audiences but ultimately cancelled. He participated in 2016 in Zeroville, Strange Ones and Living Among Us with Andrew Keegan. 

#5. Eddie Kaye Thomas – Paul Finch

Eddie has not been wasting his time! Right after the first film was released, he played Mike Platt on the show Off Centre. He worked on the first  two Harold and Kumar films, too, working once again with  John Cho. He was cut from ‘Til Death for budgeting after being on the show in 2006 and 2007. He starred How to Make It in America as David “Kappo” Kaplan and in 2014 joined the cast of Scorpion as Toby Curtis and appeared on the movie The List in 2015. Seth MacFarlane fans also might know that he has been voicing Barry on American Dad since 2009.

#4. Seann William Scott – Steve Stifler

Seann William Scott, who played the memorable role of Stifler, received only $8000 for his work on the first movie and was only promoted to lead character in American Wedding. After American Pie, he played many leading roles- he worked on Dude, Where’s my Car?, Road Trip and Final Destination. He participated too in Old School, Role Models, Goon  and Goon: Last of The Enforcers, and he has voiced Crash in Ice Age films since 2006. He did work, however, on some not-so-successful films as American Loser, Cop Out and Movie 43.

#3. Chris Klein – Chris “Oz” Ostreicher

We all remember Chris Klein from his role in American Pie,  and for his much publicized relationship with Katie Holmes to whom he was engaged. However, in 2003 they broke up, and later on he was arrested for a DUI and had to go to rehab for substance abuse and has been clean since that moment. He then met Laina Rose Thyfault and married her. But back to his career, he has played Drew from 2011 to 2014 on Wilfred and he has worked on How We Live, Damaged and Out of the Burning Blue.

#2. Alyson Hannigan – Michelle Flaherty

Alyson is one of the most successful members of the cast, starting from the popular line This one time, at band camp…” she has had nothing but achievements. Before American Pie, she had already been working on the TV show Buffy as the vampire hunter’s friend Willow, and from 2005 to 2014 she played Lily in How I Met Your Mother, where the  beloved couple with Marshall (Jason Segel) gained a lot of popularity with the audiences. In real life she is married to Alex Denisof, her partner from Buffy. Alyson recently worked on Modern Love together with the star Jonathan Bennet.

#1. Jason Biggs – Jim Levenstein

Jason Biggs, our beloved Jim, is very popular for playing Jewish roles in films such as Saving Silverman, Prozac Nation and Anything Else, so it may come as a surprise that he is not actually Jewish, and was raised as a Roman Catholic. He has given the voice to Leonardo from 2012 to 2014 on the animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and has played Piper’s ex on Orange is the New Black. In 2015 he worked with Ashley Tisdale on Drive, She Said as Guy, an expectant father. He has recently been criticized for his inappropriate comments about the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
