#24. Strange Disappearance
In 1945 the Sodder family suffered the worst. There was a horrible fire which led to the disappearance of five children, aged 5 to 14 years old.


The children's father tried to save them, but he couldn't find his ladder, his truck stopped working and it was impossible for him to contact the fire department, as if the universe wanted the worst to happen. By the time authorities came, it was too late.
#23. Sodder Family Was Gone
After the fire went out, there weren't any remains of the five children and they completely disappeared. For years, people claimed to have seen the five children, but the police couldn't find any lead.


One private investigator found a lead, he went to Kentucky to investigate and was never seen again. The Sodders died without knowing what happened to their children.
#22. The Disappearance Of A Boeing 727
Ben Padilla was a well-known pilot and an American aircraft mechanic. In 2003, he was assigned to work on an old Boeing 727.


He was supervising a group of workers who were reconditioning the plane. After the work was done, the plane was ready to take off, but something unexpected occurred.
#21. Never Seen Again
The modernized Boeing 727 took off towards the Atlantic Ocean. Until today, no one has ever seen the plane again, not to mention pilot Ben Padilla. What's weird is that Ben wasn't qualified to fly this type of plane, nor did he have the necessary crew to fly such a big plane.


Unfortunately, investigations led to nothing and the pilot and the plane were never seen again.
#20. Being Hungry Can Be Terrifying
The horrific story of a man called Tarrare dates back centuries ago, in the 1700s. Tarrare walked down the streets of France and ate everything that he saw on his way. When he was 17 years old, he weighed 100 pounds.


He ate so much that his own family evicted him from his home because they could not afford food for him anymore. That's when he joined a freak show.
#19. Can't Stop Eating
Tarrare ate everything from garbage to live animals. After the freak show, he enlisted in the army. He spent some time there but was later hospitalized because he couldn't handle the army's strict diet -he was starving.


Doctors once caught him eating corpses, so he was kicked out of the hospital. What's strange is that a 14-month old baby suddenly disappeared while he was in hospital. Doctors believe that Tarrare ate the little baby, too.
#18. Mystery Of The Sicily Fires
There is a small town in Sicily named Canneto di Caronia, which suffered very strange fires since 2004. Fire burnt the town because of electrical appliances.


Authorities rapidly cut off the power and evacuated all locals. To find the cause of the fires, several experts in electrical engineering, scientists and military personnel were sent to the small town.
#17. Canneto Di Caronia Is Burning
Unfortunately, experts in the field couldn't reach any conclusion. While they were investigating, they claimed to have witnessed weird events. For example, an unplugged cable suddenly exploded and caught fire.


The people of Canneto di Caronia believe that aliens, witches or ghosts caused the fires. The Italian government recently reported that the town was full of electromagnetic emissions, which caused the fires.
#16. Lake Lanier
The story behind Lake Lanier is horrifying. The US Government created the lake by flooding lands, so locals were evicted from their properties and later relocated.


The lake was created in the 1950s, and strange things happened since then. There are several reports of drownings and mysterious disappearances surrounding the lake area.
#15. Mystery Lake
In 2011, more than 10 people died in the lake. Recently, there was a mysterious case of a man called Kelly Nash. One day, he woke up feeling sick, so he decided to stay in bed.


A couple of hours later, his girlfriend went to check on him but he was gone, his personal belongings were still at his house. A month later, his decomposed body was found in Lake Lanier. Locals believe the lake is cursed.
#14. Teresa Butler Vanished
It was a normal day when Teresa Butler's husband arrived home from work on January 25, 2006. He opened the front door and found the children, but there were no signs of Teresa. It was weird because her personal belongings were at the house, including her Jeep and other valuable items of her.


Her husband thought someone broke in, but the house was in excellent conditions and the children didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
#13. The Strangest Case
The police started an investigation and found that Teresa made two calls before disappearing. One of them didn't pick up, the other picked up but said that couldn't hear anything on the other side. Neither of them knew Teresa.


The case quickly went cold and after 13 years, a man was arrested in connection to her disappearance, but her body has never been found.
#12. A Country Named Taured
Back in 1954, a weird man was spotted at Tokyo's Haneda Airport. As he looked suspicious, he was stopped and asked where he was from. He said he was from Taured, a country between Spain and France.


He had documentation and a passport full of stamps that proved where he was from. Officers showed him a map and pointed to Andorra, the country between Spain and France, saying that Taured didn't exist. He got really angry.
#11. Left No Trace
The man from the non-existing country was taken to a hotel to spend the night while officers tried to sort things out.


They found that the man had no real contacts and his bank didn't exist. Everything got even creepier when the Taured man disappeared from the hotel. His documentation, which was secured at the airport, disappeared too.
#10. Sleeping Sickness
This recent story is incredibly creepy. Kalachi is a village of Kazakhstan where it was reported that more than 100 people had a weird sleeping sickness.


It was a complete mystery for both doctors and scientists. People who suffered from the illness had one symptom: they fell asleep for days, and later woke up being another person.
#9. Side Effects
This bizarre illness, which hit in 2013, also caused people to feel dizzy and suffer headaches and nausea. Apparently, there was a toxic substance in the air that caused villagers to get sick.


People blamed the old Soviet mine that was close to the village. Authorities were able to relocate some people out of the danger zone. However, many refused since they wanted to stay home.
#8. Children Vanished From National Parks
There are thousands of cases in which people disappear off the face of the earth. It is estimated that over 1,100 people vanished from US national parks, most of them being children.


These cases are being investigated by the government, but there are no answers to the mysterious disappearances.
#7. Disappear Without Trace
Unfortunately, these cases of missing persons haven't caught the media's attention. Everybody knows about the disappearances in national parks, yet no one seems to be acting upon it.


It's a difficult job to determine the exact number of missing persons. Apparently, the Department of Interior is handling the matter since 2013. We hope the mysteries are finally solved.
#6. Skinwalker Ranch
There exists a terrifying zone in the northeast of Utah called Skinwalker Ranch. People claim that it is an alien zone. Terry and Gwen Sherman moved there in 1994, and strange things started to happen.


Their cattle and dogs suddenly disappeared, flashing lights were seen, weird voices were heard from nowhere and several animals were found badly injured.
#5. Mystery In The Area
The ranch was called Skinwalker Ranch because a tribe that lived in the area for thousands of years claimed that skinwalker creatures were wandering in the land, which was cursed.


Paranormal investigations quickly took place. As a result, terrifying and enigmatic events were discovered, but there were no answers to such mysteries.
#4. Mysterious Message
In the 1950s, ships navigating the water channels of Malacca received a weird message by radio. The message was in Morse code, so it was impossible to grasp the whole massage.


There were some ships which received the transcript, which read "All Officers, including the Captain, are dead. Lying in chartroom and bridge. Possible whole crew dead... I die."
#3. S.S. Ourang Medan
When American ships went to rescue the Ourang Medan, it was too late. The whole ship was a complete mess: corpses of the crew were scattered in a gruesome manner.


What was weird is that the corpses didn't have any signs of harm or injuries, and they were rotting faster than the normal rot. Out of nowhere, the Ourang Medan burnt out, exploded and sank into the sea.
#2. Ricky McCormick
Ricky McCormick was a 41-year man who was found dead in St. Charles County Missouri. It was 1999 when he disappeared.


After three days of search, the police found his unharmed body in an abandoned corn field. The fact that Ricky couldn't drive added to the mystery since the corn field was 20 miles from his house.
#1. Cracking The Code
Inside Ricky's pocket, there were handwritten codes which were impossible for the police to solve. After 12 years, the FBI decided to made them public.


Unfortunately, no one was able to solve the mysterious code, and the police could find out how Ricky died and why his body had rapidly decomposed.
